Job Description

Summary

Responsible for designing and developing diverse visual information products and multimedia communications.

We are seeking a Visual Information Specialist to design and produce a wide range of visual content and multimedia solutions. This role involves communicating complex information through engaging visual means across various platforms.

  • *Core Responsibilities & Qualifications:**
  • **General Background:** Major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or related fields.
  • **Foundational Experience:** Planning the preparation and use of diverse visual materials including photographs, illustrations, drawings, charts, diagrams, and multimedia elements.
  • *Specific Requirements by Grade Level:**
  • *GS-7 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level (federal or private sector) demonstrating ability in:
* Developing web graphics using computer-generated production applications. * Designing and producing printed publications with appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • **Education:** One full year of graduate-level education or a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement.
  • *GS-9 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level (federal or private sector) demonstrating ability in:
* Implementing communications industry techniques and technologies (e.g., graphic design, web design, branding, multimedia presentation, digital imaging). * Assisting in the design and production of visual information products (still, video, graphics) and communication tools (webpages, social media, electronic newsletters).
  • **Education:** A master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education.
  • *GS-11 Level:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level (federal or private sector) demonstrating ability in:
* Designing visual imagery for programs across executive, administrative, technical, economic, logistical, scientific, and/or legislative fields. * Planning and preparing graphic media for multimedia presentations, including websites, briefing charts, agency branding, and publications.
  • **Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education.
  • *Additional Information:**
  • **Combination of Education & Experience:** A combination of education and experience may be used to meet qualification requirements.
  • **Creditable Experience:** Both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, will be credited.
