Job Description
Summary
Seeking experienced GS-15 Deportation Officers (annuitants welcome) to manage complex legal cases and agency-wide deportation policy.
This opportunity is specifically for re-employed CSRS and FERS annuitants seeking a Deportation Officer GS-15 position, approved with a dual compensation waiver until 6/30/2028.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct expert legal research and investigations on highly complex, sensitive deportation/exclusion cases.
- Make decisions on intricate deportation reconsideration requests involving jurisdictional issues.
- Represent the agency at hearings and forums on detention and deportation operations.
- Apply broad analytical management processes and develop/implement agency-wide detention/deportation policies.
- *Employment Details for Annuitants (Dual Compensation Waiver):**
- **Benefits:** Full annuity and full Federal salary, annual and sick leave (for full-time schedules), and eligibility for overtime (including AUO).
- **Limitations:** Not eligible for additional retirement coverage (other than Social Security) or TSP Contributions.
- **Appointment:** Non-status, term appointment (Not-to-Exceed 1 year, with potential for extension).
- *Qualifications (GS-15):**
- Possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level (or equivalent) performing duties directly related to the core responsibilities outlined above.
- Volunteer and National Service experience is credited towards qualification requirements.
