Supvy Detention and Deportation Officer (Reemployed Annuitant & CTAP/ICTAP/RPL) (Term Appointment)

The Department of Homeland Security is seeking experienced Deportation Officers. This rehire opportunity is open to eligible CSRS and FERS annuitants with a salary offset waiver. **About the Role:** As a Deportation Officer, you will play a critical role in national security and public safety by enforcing immigration laws. **Key Responsibilities:** * Identify, locate, and arrest noncitizens posing threats to national security, public safety, or those who have entered the U.S. illegally. * Conduct complex legal research and investigations for deportation/exclusion cases. * Obtain and serve criminal and civil warrants, initiating deportation or criminal proceedings. * Ensure the safe, secure, and humane treatment of detainees in ICE custody. * Manage complex cases involving non-compliant detainees, including criminal prosecution. * Gather intelligence based on national requirements, including terrorism and proliferation. **Qualifications (GS-13):** * One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent. * Demonstrated experience in duties similar to those listed above. **Compensation & Benefits (for eligible re-employed annuitants):** * Receive full annuity and full Federal salary. * Eligible for annual and sick leave (for full-time schedules). * Full-time work schedules available, including overtime and Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime (AUO). **Important Notes:** * This is a non-status, term appointment (Not-to-Exceed 1 year, extendable). * Re-employed annuitants are not eligible for additional retirement coverage (other than Social Security) or TSP contributions. * Resumes are limited to 5 pages; only the first 5 pages will be reviewed. * Qualifying experience includes paid and unpaid/volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps). * Applicants with disabilities, veterans, Peace Corps, and VISTA volunteers are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for non-competitive appointment.
