Summary
Seeking qualified Veterinary Medical Officers with a DVM/VMD degree to perform professional veterinary medical duties.
We are seeking dedicated Veterinary Medical Officers to join our team, performing essential veterinary duties. This role requires specific academic and professional qualifications, varying by grade level, along with physical capabilities.
- *Minimum Qualifications (GS-11 Grade Level):**
- **Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree (VMD)** from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Education-accredited school.
- **or for Graduates of Foreign Veterinary Medical Schools (non-AVMA accredited), you must meet ONE of the following:**
- **and for Foreign Graduates:** Proof of English language proficiency through one of the following, unless waived:
- *Advanced Qualifications (GS-12 Grade Level):**
- Must meet all basic GS-11 requirements.
- **PLUS, ONE of the following:**
- *Physical Requirements:**
Applicants must be physically and mentally capable of efficiently performing job functions safely, which includes:
- Full range of motion, including working with arms above shoulder level and rapid repetitive twisting.
- Ability to stand and walk on slippery/uneven floors and catwalks, and climb stairs/ladders.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity of the upper body (arms, hands, fingers) with a normal sense of touch.
- Good near and distance vision (correctable to at least 20/40 in one eye), ability to distinguish shades of color (limited color blindness).
- Hearing loss will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
