Summary
Seeking a highly qualified Veterinary Medical Officer requiring a DVM/VMD degree, experience, and specific physical abilities.
We are seeking highly qualified Veterinary Medical Officers (0701 Series) for positions requiring extensive academic preparation, professional experience, and adherence to specific physical standards.
- *Qualifications (GS-11 Level):**
- **Education:** Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited school.
- **Foreign Graduates:** If your degree is from a non-AVMA accredited foreign school, you must provide one of the following:
- **English Proficiency (for foreign graduates):** Demonstrate proficiency through recognized examinations (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, CAEL with specified minimum scores) or by providing proof of native English language status and graduation from an English-taught high school curriculum.
- *Qualifications (GS-12 Level):**
- Must meet all GS-11 requirements, PLUS one of the following:
- *Physical Requirements:**
Candidates must be physically and mentally able to perform job functions, including:
- Full range of motion, working with arms above shoulder level.
- Ability to stand, walk on slippery/uneven floors, catwalks, and climb stairs/ladders.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity of the upper body and normal sense of touch.
- Good near and distance vision (correctable to 20/40 in one eye), free of chronic eye disease, and ability to distinguish shades of color (limited color blindness permitted).
- Hearing loss will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
