Lead DEERS modernization strategy and program oversight within DoD, requiring strategic IT leadership and policy expertise.
## Strategic IT Leader, DEERS Portfolio (GS-15)
We are seeking a highly experienced IT professional to lead the strategic modernization and program oversight for the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) portfolio. This role demands a deep understanding of DoD systems and policy.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and drive modernization strategies for the DEERS portfolio, aligning with DoDI 1341.02.
- Provide strategic leadership on emerging customer and stakeholder requirements, collaborating with Military Departments and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on how DoD benefit and entitlement policy changes impact DEERS-supported systems and processes.
- Oversee comprehensive program activities including planning, budgeting, requirements analysis, risk management, acquisition strategy, and cost-benefit analysis.
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in Federal service.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal/DoD Information Technology policies and software delivery practices.
- Demonstrated IT-related experience across all four core competencies:
- Volunteer experience, paid or unpaid, is credited for qualifying experience.*
