Job Title: Trade Program Specialist (GS-14)
Join U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as a Trade Program Specialist, managing critical trade enforcement policies and operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, leading program initiatives, and advising senior leadership on complex trade matters for a federal law enforcement agency.
- *Responsibilities:**
- Manage and assess deliverables, ensuring program needs meet Office of Trade policy in areas like Revenue, Broker Enforcement, AD/CVD, Import Safety, and Intellectual Property Rights.
- Serve as a program lead, representing priorities at CBP, DHS, and inter-agency events.
- Recommend and implement solutions for policy, procedure, and special operations to enforce trade laws.
- Evaluate the impact of legislative and regulatory changes on organizational goals.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise communications to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, performing duties similar to those listed above. Explicitly demonstrate this experience on your resume.
- **Federal Employees:** Must meet applicable Time in Grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent).
- *Important Hiring Information:**
- **Background Investigation:** All applicants undergo a thorough background investigation due to CBP's federal law enforcement agency status.
- **Residency:** Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply (e.g., government service abroad).
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Political Appointees:** Current or recent political appointees must disclose this information.
