Summary

Lead data science and operations research teams, driving strategic analytical insights using advanced BI tools for high-level leadership.

This senior leadership role oversees highly complex data science and operations research initiatives, directing teams of subject matter experts to provide critical analytical support for top-level decision-making.   • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Serve as a second-line supervisor for subject matter experts delivering data, statistical analysis, projection modeling, and analytical support.
  • Oversee a broad range of operations research assignments, applying creativity and innovative techniques to unique problems.
  • Direct scientific inquiry in developing mathematical statistical programs for evaluation and predictive analysis.
  • Manage critical aspects of information design, analytical studies, and national data inquiries.
  • Lead the creation of mathematical and statistical models to inform budgetary decisions.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • *1. Education:**
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a directly related field.
  • or a combination of education (30 semester hours in a relevant field) and appropriate experience.
  • *2. Specialized Experience (1 year at the next lower grade level):**
  • Experience supervising data, information, statistical analysis, projection modeling, and analytical support teams.
  • Proven ability to oversee complex operations research analyses, including innovative use of advanced techniques.
  • Experience directing the development of mathematical statistical programs for evaluation and prediction.
  • Managing the design and development of critical analytical studies and national data inquiries.
  • Directing mathematical and statistical modeling to guide budgetary decision-making.
  • *3. Mandatory Skill (Selective Placement Factor):**
  • Expert knowledge and extensive experience utilizing Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) to visualize human capital and programmatic data. Your resume must explicitly detail this experience.
  • *Additional Application Requirements:**
  • **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is required.
  • **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years (exceptions may apply for U.S. government service).
  • **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
