Summary

Lead advanced operations research, leveraging mathematical modeling and AI for critical decision-making in a federal agency.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead complex operations research analyses, applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniques. This role involves significant contributions to scientific inquiry, data analysis, and strategic decision-making within a federal agency.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Oversee a diverse range of operations research analyses, employing innovative techniques, advanced approaches, and new technologies.
  • Lead scientific inquiry in the independent development of mathematical and statistical programs to evaluate and predict project capabilities and outcomes.
  • Manage critical aspects of the design and development of information, analytical studies, and national data inquiries.
  • Create sophisticated mathematical and statistical models to guide budgetary decision-making processes.
  • Conduct high-level briefings for stakeholders and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance analytical capabilities.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • *Education:**
  • A. Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a directly related field. or
  • B. A combination of education (30 semester hours in the fields listed above) and relevant professional experience.
  • *Experience (GS-14 Level):**
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, demonstrating proficiency in:
* Overseeing complex operations research analyses involving unique problems and innovative solutions. * Developing and applying advanced mathematical and statistical programs for evaluation and prediction. * Managing the design and development of significant analytical studies and national data inquiries. * Creating mathematical and statistical models to inform budgetary decisions. * Conducting high-level briefings and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI).

  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • **U.S. Citizenship:** Required.
  • **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is mandatory.
  • **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for U.S. government service.
  • **Probationary Period:** A one-year probationary period is required for all new federal government employees.
