## Supervisory Criminal Investigator (GS-15)
Join U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator, leading critical investigations and managing a team of dedicated professionals. This role demands experienced leadership and a commitment to upholding agency values.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide technical/administrative oversight to criminal investigators.
- Manage complex and sensitive criminal and administrative investigations.
- Establish goals, priorities, and deadlines for subordinate staff.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to achieve investigative and organizational objectives.
- Evaluate employee performance and facilitate professional development/training.
- Represent the agency in key meetings, conferences, and liaison activities.
- **Experience:** Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level, demonstrating proficiency in the responsibilities listed above. This includes both paid and qualifying unpaid experience.
- **Background Investigation:** Subject to a thorough background investigation, including inquiries into criminal history and drug use.
- **Medical Examination:** Must meet established medical and physical standards to safely perform essential job functions.
- **Firearms:** Required to carry a firearm and maintain proficiency. Strict eligibility criteria apply regarding criminal convictions and domestic violence.
- **Polygraph Examination:** Required for applicants not currently CBP law enforcement employees (reciprocity/waivers may apply).
- **Drug Testing:** Complete pre-employment and random drug testing.
- **Residency:** Must have resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years (exceptions possible).
- **Probationary Period:** A one-year probationary period is required for new federal government employees.
- **Political Appointee Disclosure:** Current/former political appointees must disclose their status.
