Senior IT Specialist leading HRIT system design, cloud integration, and software development with a strong CS background.
Join our team as an IT Specialist, specializing in Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) systems. This role involves leading the design, development, and optimization of critical IT solutions, leveraging cloud platforms and modern software development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and implement HRIT systems, covering database architecture, infrastructure, and resource management.
- Apply computer science principles to optimize IT solutions, including system software, information structures, database management, and network theory.
- Manage and optimize cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including migration and integration.
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Agile or Waterfall methodologies, including complex troubleshooting.
- Direct project teams in planning and implementing HR business processes and IT solutions.
- Ensure data integrity using database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server), programming languages, and software development tools.
Qualifications:
- **Education:** Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science; or a Bachelor's Degree with 30 semester hours in mathematics, statistics, and computer science (including at least 15 semester hours of differential and integral calculus).
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 federal grade level) performing duties similar to those listed above.
- **Technical Proficiency:** Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), database management systems (MySQL, SQL Server), programming languages, and software development tools.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is mandatory.
- Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have physically resided in the U.S. for at least three of the last five years (exceptions may apply).
- New federal employees are subject to a one-year probationary period.
