Job Description

Supervise and manage U.S. Customs and Border Protection field programs, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.
The Supervisory CBP Officer (Field Programs) at the GS-14 level leads and manages critical law enforcement operations within U.S. Customs and Border Protection. **Key Responsibilities:** * Lead, direct, and evaluate CBP Officers and professional staff engaged in inspection, intelligence analysis, examination, and law enforcement activities. * Conduct systems analysis, statistical sampling, and management reviews to assess program effectiveness and cost-benefit. * Apply comprehensive knowledge of program legislation and investigative techniques to prepare reports and guide operations. * Capture and analyze metrics, trends, and patterns to enhance field office and enforcement component performance. **Requirements:** * **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, demonstrating expertise in law enforcement operations, analysis, and management. * **Prior Service (Mandatory):** Must have permanently served in a primary Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) position (e.g., GS-1890, 1816, 1801, or 1895) with at least three years of service. This is a secondary position subject to special retirement provisions. * **Time-in-Grade:** Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13 level. * **Security & Background:** Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including questions regarding felony convictions and illegal drug use. * **Polygraph Examination:** Required for non-current CBP law enforcement employees; waivers for veterans or prior federal polygraphs may apply. * **Residency:** For non-CBP employees, physical residency in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years, with limited exceptions. **Note:** Your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet all stated requirements.
