Supervisory Cbp Officer (Field Programs)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a qualified individual for a Supervisory role focused on national program management and law enforcement operations.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Manage one or more national programs and resolve complex, unique policy issues.
• Support and oversee an aggressive CBP Occupational Safety and Health Program.
• Perform inspection, intelligence analysis, examination, and law enforcement activities, including investigating violations of laws enforced by CBP.
• Serve as a liaison with high-ranking officials in other Federal agencies and DHS managers.
• *Qualifications:**
• **Experience:** At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, performing duties similar to those listed above.
• **Prior Federal LEO Service:** Mandatory prerequisite to have permanently served in a primary federal Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) position (e.g., Customs Inspector, CBP Officer, Immigration Inspector, Canine Enforcement Officer).

* *Note:* Exemption applies if currently in a permanent Secondary LEO Retirement covered position.

• **Time-in-Grade (Current Federal Employees):** Must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13 level (or equivalent) by 09/03/2025.

• **Background Investigation:** Thorough background check required for this federal law enforcement agency position.
• **Polygraph Examination:** Required for non-current CBP law enforcement employees, unless eligible for reciprocity or a veteran waiver.
• **Retirement Coverage:** This is a secondary LEO position subject to specific mandatory retirement provisions, requiring direct transfer from a primary LEO position and 3 years of primary LEO service.
• **Probationary Period:** Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
