Summary
Seeking an experienced federal law enforcement professional to manage national programs and oversee critical CBP operations.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a qualified individual for a Supervisory role focused on national program management and law enforcement operations.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage one or more national programs and resolve complex, unique policy issues.
- Support and oversee an aggressive CBP Occupational Safety and Health Program.
- Perform inspection, intelligence analysis, examination, and law enforcement activities, including investigating violations of laws enforced by CBP.
- Serve as a liaison with high-ranking officials in other Federal agencies and DHS managers.
- *Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, performing duties similar to those listed above.
- **Prior Federal LEO Service:** Mandatory prerequisite to have permanently served in a primary federal Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) position (e.g., Customs Inspector, CBP Officer, Immigration Inspector, Canine Enforcement Officer).
- **Time-in-Grade (Current Federal Employees):** Must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13 level (or equivalent) by 09/03/2025.
- *Hiring Process & Other Requirements:**
- **Background Investigation:** Thorough background check required for this federal law enforcement agency position.
- **Polygraph Examination:** Required for non-current CBP law enforcement employees, unless eligible for reciprocity or a veteran waiver.
- **Retirement Coverage:** This is a secondary LEO position subject to specific mandatory retirement provisions, requiring direct transfer from a primary LEO position and 3 years of primary LEO service.
- **Probationary Period:** Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
- **Political Appointee Disclosure:** Required if applicable.
