Lead federal communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs, developing impactful content for diverse audiences.
Join our federal agency team in a communications role, developing and executing impactful strategies to inform and engage diverse stakeholders. You will contribute to critical public affairs efforts, ensuring clear and effective communication of agency operations, policies, and initiatives.
- *Responsibilities:**
- Plan, research, write, and edit a wide range of internal and external communication products, including briefing materials, talking points, fact sheets, press releases, reports, official statements, and presentations.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and recommend effective communication techniques tailored to specific audiences.
- Assist in or lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of communication strategies and programs to enhance stakeholder engagement.
- Analyze organizational policy issues to anticipate communication needs and potential stakeholder reactions, fostering proactive outreach.
- Prepare speakers and ensure the clarity and consistency of all final communication products.
- *Requirements:**
- **GS-12 Level:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 federal grade level, performing duties such as reviewing communications, partnering with SMEs, assisting with strategy, and developing communications products.
- **GS-13 Level:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 federal grade level, performing duties such as planning/leading communications, developing/evaluating strategies, and analyzing policy issues for communication needs.
- Experience includes paid, unpaid, and volunteer work that builds relevant competencies.
- Your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet these experience requirements.
- *Additional Federal Requirements:**
- Applicants must undergo a thorough background investigation.
- A residency requirement mandates physical residence in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years for non-CBP employees.
- New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
