Summary
Develop and evaluate federal communication strategies, create executive-level content, and analyze policy to inform diverse audiences.
Join our federal agency team to strategically develop, implement, and evaluate internal and external communications. This role focuses on crafting clear, impactful messages for diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external partners.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and assess comprehensive communication strategies utilizing various platforms (email, intranet, social media, print).
- Create and edit high-quality written materials, correspondence, and presentations that adhere to agency style and standards.
- Conduct thorough research and verification of source documents for accuracy.
- Tailor complex information for different audiences to ensure understanding, influence decisions, and foster collaborative relationships.
- Analyze organizational policy issues to predict communication challenges and assess employee sentiment.
- Design and evaluate information programs that enhance understanding among all stakeholders, including those with varying perspectives.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Specialized Experience:** Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 or GS-12 grade level. This experience should include duties such as:
- Your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet these specialized experience requirements.
- Qualifying experience includes both paid and unpaid (volunteer) work.
- *General Federal Requirements:**
- **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation is mandatory due to the nature of the agency.
- **U.S. Residency:** Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Waivers may be available for specific circumstances (e.g., U.S. government service).
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Time in Grade:** Current federal employees must meet Time in Grade requirements by 12/05/2025.
- **Political Appointee Disclosure:** Disclosure is required for current or recent political Schedule A, C, Non-career SES, or Presidential Appointees.
- **CTAP Eligibility:** If eligible for the Career Transition Assistance Program, refer to OPM's resources; a minimum score of 85 is required for well-qualified consideration.
