Summary
Guide large AWS customers as a Security Specialist, defining and implementing robust security, resilience, and compliance strategies for cloud workloads.
AWS is seeking a passionate and experienced Security Specialist to guide large enterprise customers in safely adopting and securing workloads on the AWS cloud platform, with a focus on AWS Wickr and Communication Developer Services. This high-visibility role involves providing technical thought leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on expertise to secure complex customer environments globally.
About the Role:
You will operate with significant autonomy, engaging directly with CISOs, Security Architects, and senior leadership to address security, resilience, and compliance challenges. As part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization, you will be crucial in helping customers integrate AWS security controls, resolve complex issues, and achieve ongoing assurance on the platform.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic conversations on security, risk, and compliance with major AWS customers.
- Drive consensus among senior stakeholders to achieve positive security outcomes on AWS.
- Guide customers in integrating AWS security controls into their frameworks and demonstrate implementation.
- Partner with customers to ensure ongoing security, resilience, and compliance on AWS.
- Direct AWS Solutions Architects, Sales, and Partner teams on customer engagements.
- Resolve complex security concerns through deep-dive discussions and strategic recommendations.
- Develop customer-facing security resources and assist with incident response.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of AWS compliance programs based on customer feedback.
- Monitor global industry trends, regulations, and build relationships with key personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional or military experience.
- 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications or infrastructure.
- 8+ years in a specific technology domain such as cloud computing, security, or systems engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and operation of complex systems.
- 5+ years in an information security or compliance role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting public sector customers.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing, sales-aligned role (e.g., consultant, solutions architect).
- Background in a regulated industry (e.g., financial services, healthcare, defense).
- Experience collaborating with IT and Security leadership on identity and security strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate security, resilience, and compliance approaches.
- Proficiency in public speaking and senior-level presentations.
- Experience defining and delivering security, resilience, and compliance strategies.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA/M, CIPP/CIPM/CIPT).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related discipline.
