Summary
Lead strategic cloud security, resilience, and compliance outcomes for large AWS customers globally, providing expert thought leadership.
Join AWS as a Senior Security & Compliance Specialist, an autonomous and high-visibility role focused on guiding large customers through complex cloud security challenges. You will deliver strategic outcomes for security, resilience, and compliance on the AWS platform, with a specific alignment to AWS Wickr. This global position involves providing thought leadership and collaborating with sales, product marketing, and product management teams.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead strategic conversations on security, risk, and compliance with senior customer stakeholders, including CISOs and board members.
- Help customers integrate AWS security controls into their existing frameworks and achieve ongoing assurance over their security, resilience, and compliance needs.
- Direct AWS Solutions Architects, Sales, and Partner teams across multiple engagements to drive consistent advice and outcomes.
- Resolve complex security concerns and achieve security, resilience, and compliance outcomes through deep dives, strategic presentations, and hands-on demonstrations.
- Develop industry-leading, customer-facing security resources and build confidence to help customers respond to security incidents.
- Influence the strategic direction of AWS compliance programs based on customer interactions and market trends.
- Maintain strong relationships with key industry personnel and policymakers while staying connected to global industry regulations and requirements.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- 5+ years of professional or military experience.
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures.
- 8+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 7+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and operation of complex systems.
- 5+ years of experience in an information security or compliance role.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience directly supporting public sector customers.
- Background in a customer-facing, sales-aligned role (e.g., consultant, solutions engineer, solutions architect).
- Experience working in a regulated industry such as financial services, healthcare, or defense.
- Ability to articulate identity and security strategies to IT and Security leadership.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing principles.
- Demonstrated innovative approaches to solve complex security, resilience, and compliance challenges.
- Proficiency in public speaking and senior-level presentations.
- Experience defining and ensuring delivery of security, resilience, and compliance strategies.
- A degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA/M, CIPP/CIPM/CIPT).
- *Compensation & Benefits:**
- The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year to $239,000/year, varying by market location and experience.
