Summary

Lead global health communications, content, and digital strategy for maternal and newborn health initiatives, including major conferences.

Jhpiego seeks a dynamic and strategic Sr. Communications Manager to lead and execute comprehensive communications planning for global maternal and newborn health (MNH) initiatives. This role primarily supports AlignMNH, a global initiative, and provides communications leadership to USAID's MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) and Reaching Impact, Saturation, and Epidemic Control (RISE) projects.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **Communications Strategy:** Develop and implement overall content and communications strategies, including messaging, brand identity, and tactics across all channels (social/digital media, knowledge hub, e-newsletters).
  • **Content Management:** Oversee content strategy, creation, curation, and digital media for public-facing websites (Knowledge Hub) and various channels, ensuring engaging and relevant content.
  • **Event Leadership:** Lead communications, promotion, and logistical support for major events, including the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference (IMNHC 2026) and project-specific convenings (webinars, exhibitions).
  • **Project Support:** Manage robust publications pipelines for MCGL and RISE, act as the primary communications liaison for country teams, ensure USAID branding compliance, and support development of project deliverables and stakeholder presentations.
  • **Knowledge Sharing & Supervision:** Drive strategies to expand communications reach, foster community engagement, track trends, and potentially provide coaching/mentorship to direct reports.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in public affairs and marketing communications.
  • Proven experience with social media tools, websites, SEO, and content marketing strategies.
  • Strong writing, editing, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with event design, management, and budget handling.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
