Summary
Lead communications and brand engagement for the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum, managing public affairs and strategic outreach.
The Smithsonian American Women's History Museum seeks a Head of Communications and Brand Engagement to shape its public image and outreach.

- Develop and execute comprehensive communications and public affairs programs.
- Serve as the museum's primary public information officer and media spokesperson.
- Provide strategic communications and marketing expertise for exhibitions, programs, digital projects, and the physical building.
- Lead the development and implementation of the museum's brand strategy across all platforms.
- Supervise and mentor communications staff.
- Oversee collaborative projects across departments.
- Act as a Technical Point of Contact for service contracts.
- *What You Bring:**
- **Experience:** At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.
- **Specialized Experience:** Managing communications and public affairs for a museum or cultural institution, including media relations, brand management, social media, websites, internal communications, crisis communications, and issues management.
- **Eligibility:** U.S. Citizenship required.
- *Compensation & Benefits:**
- **Salary:** $120,579 to $156,755 per year (GS-13).
- **Work Schedule:** Full-time, Permanent Federal position.
- **Location:** Washington, D.C. (Occasional travel, ad-hoc telework eligible).
