Summary

Manages high-level stakeholder relations, complex communications, and executive administrative support within a federal agency.

This role involves critical administrative, liaison, and communication functions within a federal agency. We are seeking a highly organized and skilled professional to support key organizational initiatives.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners, including government entities, private industry, and international organizations.
  • **Complex Communications:** Research, draft, and review high-level written materials such as reports, briefings, correspondence, and memoranda, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  • **Grievance & Correspondence Management:** Oversee responses to individual and union grievances, prepare Congressional-level correspondence, and coordinate contributions from subject matter experts.
  • **Executive Support:** Manage travel arrangements for senior executives and staff, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • *Qualifications & Requirements:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, performing duties similar to those outlined above. Volunteer experience is considered.
  • **Federal Service:** Current federal employees must meet Time in Grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent).
  • **Resume:** Your resume must explicitly detail how you meet the experience requirements.
  • *Important Considerations:**
  • **Background Investigation:** As a federal law enforcement agency, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requires all applicants to pass a thorough background investigation, including questions about criminal convictions and drug use.
  • **Residency:** Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Waivers may be possible for those serving the U.S. government or in U.S. sponsored programs abroad.
  • **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
  • **Political Appointees:** If you are or have been a political appointee in the Executive Branch within the last 5 years, you must disclose this information.
