## Federal Criminal Investigator (1811 Series)

Join our team as a Federal Criminal Investigator, dedicated to ensuring security and conducting thorough investigations. This role requires disciplined law enforcement professionals committed to upholding justice.

### Key Requirements:

• **Training:** Must have completed the FLETC Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP), USCP Basic Agent Training Program (BATP), or an equivalent from FBI, DEA, or U.S. Postal Inspection Service. A certificate or transcript is required.
• **Experience:** Minimum five (5) years in an 1811 series, waived for prior USCP employees.
• **Citizenship:** Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• **Age:** Must not have reached 58 years of age at appointment (waivers may apply).
• **Education:** High School Diploma or GED certificate required.
• **Driver's License:** Possess a valid REAL ID U.S. driver's license with a responsible driving record (no revocation or suspension in the past year).
• **Selective Service:** Male applicants must be registered.
• **Duty Status:** Must be in full and unrestricted duty status at application and appointment.
• **Criminal History:** Successfully pass a comprehensive criminal history check (past 10 years). Ineligible if convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
• **Credit History:** Successfully pass a credit check; no default or delinquency on Federal guaranteed student loans.

### Hiring Process Overview:

• **Initial Assessment (Virtual):** Includes an orientation providing an overview of the USCP and the hiring process.
• **Examination Phase (On-site in Washington, D.C.):** Consists of psychological (online component, 4-6 hours), medical (fasting required), and polygraph examinations. Efforts are made to schedule these consecutively.

* *Note:* USCP sworn employees retired within 12 months are waived from these examinations.

• **Background Investigation:** A full field investigation verifying employment, residential, and personal references, criminal/credit history, and academic records. Fingerprint check required.

### Important Considerations:

• Travel for hiring assessments and training is at the applicant's expense.
• Successful completion of all required training and a probationary period is mandatory.
• Deliberate misstatements, omissions, or intentionally withholding required information at any phase of the hiring process will result in disqualification.
