Summary
USCP seeks experienced 1811-series Criminal Investigators, requiring FLETC CITP/BATP, 5 years experience, and passing rigorous background checks.
The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) is seeking highly qualified Criminal Investigators for the 1811 series. This role demands extensive investigative experience and successful navigation of a comprehensive hiring process.
- *Key Requirements:**
- **Training:** Must have completed the FLETC Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP), USCP Basic Agent Training Program (BATP), or an equivalent from the FBI, DEA, or U.S. Postal Inspection Service. A certificate or FLETC transcript is required with your application.
- **Experience:** A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an 1811 series is required at the time of application. This requirement is waived for prior USCP employees.
- **Citizenship:** Must be a United States Citizen.
- **Age:** Must not have reached 58 years of age at the time of appointment (waivers may apply).
- **Education:** High School diploma or GED certificate is required.
- **Driver's License:** Possess and maintain a valid REAL ID U.S. driver's license with evidence of responsible driving for the past year (no revocations/suspensions).
- **Duty Status:** Must be in a full and unrestricted duty status at the time of application and appointment.
- **Selective Service:** Male applicants must be registered for Selective Service or verify exemption.
- **Criminal History:** Must successfully pass a comprehensive 10-year criminal history check. Applicants with a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence conviction are ineligible.
- **Credit History:** Must successfully pass a credit check, with no defaults or delinquencies on Federal guaranteed student loans.
