Summary

Seeking experienced Law Enforcement Officers with FLETC CITP training for a federal role requiring extensive background checks and specific experience.

Join our team as a Law Enforcement Officer, responsible for upholding public safety through rigorous training and a comprehensive selection process. This role requires dedicated individuals with prior law enforcement experience and a commitment to serving.

  • *Key Requirements:**
  • **Training & Experience:**
* Completed FLETC Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) or equivalent (FBI, DEA, U.S. Postal Inspection Service). Certificate/transcript required. * Currently employed in law enforcement (outside USCP). * 9 months of post-training law enforcement experience at application; 52 weeks at appointment. * Must be in full and unrestricted duty status at application and appointment.
  • **Citizenship & Age:**
* U.S. Citizen. * At least 21 years old at appointment, typically not older than 39 at appointment (or 40 if turning 40 in the appointment month). * Lateral transfers (Federal civilian law enforcement) may exceed age 39 if their combined federal law enforcement service allows 20 years by age 59 (SF-50 required).
  • **Education:** High School Diploma or GED.
  • **Driver's License:** Valid U.S. REAL ID driver's license with no revocations/suspensions in the past year. Evidence of responsible driving.
  • **Selective Service:** Male applicants must be registered or exempt.
  • *Hiring Process Overview:**
  • **Initial Assessment Phase (Virtual):** Orientation providing an overview of the USCP and the hiring process.
  • **Examination Phase (In-person in Washington, D.C.):**
* **Psychological Exam:** 4-6 hours of assessments and clinical interview (online component, requires computer, camera, mic). * **Medical Exam:** Determines physical qualification (requires fasting). * **Polygraph Exam:** Confirms selection process information.
  • **Background Investigation:**
* Thorough review of employment, residential history, personal references, criminal and credit history, and academic records. * Requires successful completion of fingerprint check, criminal history check (10 years), and credit check (no federal loan defaults). * Misdemeanor domestic violence convictions are disqualifying (due to firearm requirement). * Deliberate misstatements or omissions will result in disqualification.

  • *Additional Conditions:**
  • Must successfully complete all required training and a probationary period.
  • Travel for hiring assessments and training is at applicant's expense.
