Security Specialist (Research & Technology Protection)

This GS-13 position requires a security professional to serve as a technical authority for Research and Technology Protection (R&TP). You will apply DoD and Federal security regulations, make critical protection decisions, and advise agency officials.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Function as a technical authority for Research and Technology Protection (R&TP).
• Apply DoD and Federal security regulations, policies, and laws to implement protection methods.
• Integrate program protection, counterintelligence, operations security (OPSEC), intelligence, and technology developments.
• Develop, maintain, and update security and Science & Technology (S&T) protection program records.
• Advise agency officials on best security practices.
• Develop and deliver security training and briefings to various audiences.
• Prepare comprehensive written reports and assessments for decision-makers.
• Communicate program protection policies and procedures to support risk-based project decisions.
• *Qualifications:**
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience applying DoD and Federal security regulations for Research and Technology Protection.
• Proven ability to integrate diverse security disciplines (e.g., program protection, CI, OPSEC).
• Experience in developing security programs, maintaining records, and providing expert security advice.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver security training and prepare detailed reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex security information effectively.
