Summary
Experienced GS-14 Security Specialist to manage SCI programs, advise leadership, and secure sensitive federal operations.
This role requires a highly experienced Security Specialist (GS-14) to manage Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs and provide expert security advice. You will play a critical role in safeguarding federal operations and national security assets.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide SCI briefings and debriefings on security infractions, violations, and assist in official inquiries.
- Manage SCI administrative actions, evaluating security legislation and regulations to recommend program adjustments.
- Serve as an expert security advisor to leadership on planning, resource allocation, and systems for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) facilities and equipment.
- Coordinate SCI facilities and equipment programs, ensuring operational readiness, safety, and the security of technical systems.
- *Requirements:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, performing duties similar to those listed above. Your resume must explicitly detail how you meet this requirement.
- **Federal Service:** Meet all qualification requirements and applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13 level).
- **Background Investigation:** Successfully pass a thorough background investigation, including questions regarding felony convictions and illegal drug use, as required for a federal law enforcement agency.
- **Residency:** Physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for individuals working for the U.S. government or dependents.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees must complete a one-year probationary period.
- *Note:** Volunteer work that builds relevant competencies, knowledge, and skills will be considered toward qualifying experience.
