Summary
Seeking a Security Specialist to monitor systems, advise on SCI, and resolve complex security challenges.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a skilled Security Specialist, GS-12, to manage and enhance security protocols. This role requires comprehensive security oversight, expert advisory services, and critical problem-solving to protect personnel, assets, and sensitive information.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Monitor security monitoring systems for continuous protection.
- Recommend and implement physical protection measures for facilities, information, personnel, and assets.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) procedures to management.
- Independently review, analyze, and resolve complex security problems, applying advanced security concepts and practices.
- *Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, performing duties such as monitoring security systems, advising on SCI, and resolving complex security issues. (Your resume must clearly demonstrate this experience).
- **Volunteer Experience:** Qualifying volunteer experience is credited.
- *Additional Requirements:**
- **Background Investigation:** Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation, including drug screening and criminal history checks.
- **Online Assessment:** Completion of a mandatory online assessment is required.
- **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. (Exceptions may apply for U.S. government/military personnel and their dependents, or specific U.S.-affiliated programs).
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Application Deadline:** All qualifications must be met by 10/10/2025.
