Summary
Manage real property acquisition, leasing, and disposal for CBP, requiring specialized experience in property analysis and negotiation.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks a qualified Real Property Specialist to manage complex property acquisition and disposition.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Analyze and prepare technical reports for property location, relocation, and cost/benefit assessments.
- Develop property acquisition strategies, including lease, purchase, and condemnation, with comprehensive lease vs. purchase analyses.
- Negotiate lease terms, conduct cost/price analyses, and manage property transaction documentation.
- Provide expert technical assistance on real property acquisition, disposal, and utilization reviews.
- *Qualifications (GS-13):**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, encompassing the responsibilities listed above. Your resume must clearly demonstrate this experience.
- **Time in Grade:** Current federal employees must meet the 52-week time-in-grade requirement at the GS-12 level (or equivalent) by 11/28/2025.
- *Additional Requirements:**
- **Background Investigation:** A comprehensive background check, including review of criminal history and drug use, is required.
- **Residency:** Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least 3 of the last 5 years. Exceptions for government-related work/study may apply.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Volunteer Experience:** All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited.
- Political Appointee disclosure and CTAP/ICTAP rules apply where relevant.
