U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a highly experienced Acquisition Program Manager to oversee critical acquisition program segments. This role requires leading cross-functional teams, managing budgets, and ensuring successful project delivery within established baselines.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Manage acquisition program segments, controlling cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Review progress, forecast issues, and execute corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) (e.g., systems engineering, logistics, business management, contracting) to integrate requirements and coordinate resources.
  • Interpret and apply acquisition laws, regulations, policies, and congressional processes to refine program guidance and documentation.
  • Perform comprehensive program budget and financial management, including developing spend plans, tracking obligations, and reporting execution status.
  • Monitor contractor performance, identify and mitigate program risks/issues, and coordinate across agencies to align expectations.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 federal grade level.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing acquisition program segments, including cost, schedule, and performance control.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong knowledge and application of acquisition laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Experience with program budget and financial management.
  • Ability to monitor contractor performance, identify risks, and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • Must successfully complete a thorough background investigation by a federal law enforcement agency.
  • Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years.
  • Current federal employees must meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements.
