Manage comprehensive program segments and operations for CBP, requiring GS-13 specialized experience in federal program oversight and leadership.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a highly experienced professional for a GS-13 level position. This role requires comprehensive program oversight and management expertise within a federal law enforcement environment.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee diverse program segments, including professional, technical, and administrative functions.
- Manage operational areas such as programming, financial management, budget planning, project control, purchasing, logistics, security, personnel (including performance management), and IT support services.
- Advise on the planning, development, and integration of organizational capabilities from an overall program management standpoint.
- Review reports and special studies, ensuring proper and timely action is taken to resolve complex situations.
- Serve as a liaison with high-ranking officials in other federal agencies, department leadership, and various governing boards/committees.
- *Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** Possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, performing duties similar to those listed above. Your resume must explicitly detail how you meet these requirements.
- **Time in Grade:** Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band.
- *Additional Requirements:**
- **Background Investigation:** Successfully pass a thorough background investigation conducted by CBP, a federal law enforcement agency. This includes inquiries into felony convictions, illegal drug use, and non-prescribed controlled substances.
- **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for individuals serving or accompanying U.S. government personnel abroad, or participating in U.S.-sponsored study abroad programs.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal government employees must serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Volunteer Experience:** Qualifying volunteer experience is credited equally to paid experience.
