- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct comprehensive analysis to define problems and identify effective solutions.
- Interpret existing policies and develop new ones for designated programs.
- Provide guidance and motivation to teams, ensuring goal attainment in challenging situations.
- Evaluate the potential impact and implications of various decisions on programs and the organization.
- Report program status and technical challenges, requiring resolution, to senior leadership.
- *Minimum Qualifications (GS-14):**
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, demonstrating proficiency in the responsibilities listed above. Your resume must explicitly detail how you meet this requirement.
- *Important Requirements:**
- **Time in Grade:** Current federal employees must have completed 52 weeks at the next lower grade (or equivalent) by 12/02/2025.
- **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is mandatory for employment with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a federal law enforcement agency. This includes screening for criminal history and drug use.
- **U.S. Residency:** Applicants not currently employed by CBP must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for U.S. government-related work abroad.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Political Appointee Disclosure:** Disclosure is required for current or recent (within 5 years) political appointees in the Executive Branch.
