Summary

Federal Law Enforcement Officer opening for experienced candidates with specific police training, subject to rigorous background and medical evaluations.

Join our federal law enforcement team. We are seeking highly qualified and experienced officers to maintain safety and security.

  • *Key Requirements:**
  • **Citizenship:** Must be a United States Citizen.
  • **Education:** High School Diploma or GED certificate.
  • **Driver's License:** Possess a valid REAL ID U.S. driver's license, free from revocations or suspensions for the past year.
  • **Law Enforcement Training:** Completion of FLETC UPTP, a FLETA accredited military/equivalent police program, or CBP training (USBPI or CBPOPT). Certificate required with application.
  • **Law Enforcement Experience:**
* Minimum 9 months post-training experience at time of application. * Minimum 52 weeks experience at time of appointment. * Must be currently employed in law enforcement outside USCP in a full and unrestricted duty status.
  • **Age:** Must be at least 21 at appointment, generally not older than 39 (or 40 if born that month). Specific exceptions apply for lateral transfers with prior federal law enforcement service.
  • **Selective Service:** Male applicants must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • *Hiring & Assessment Process:**
Candidates must successfully complete a multi-phase evaluation, with travel to Washington, D.C. for some assessments at the applicant's expense.

  • **Online Psychological Examination:** A 4-6 hour assessment including psychological tests and a clinical interview. Requires a desktop/laptop, camera, and microphone.
  • **Medical Examination:** Determines physical fitness for duty. Requires fasting prior to the exam.
  • **Polygraph Examination:** Confirms information provided during the selection process.
  • **Comprehensive Background Investigation:** A full field investigation covering employment, residency, personal references, in-depth criminal and credit history, and academic records.
* **Criminal History Check:** 10-year review; applicants with misdemeanor domestic violence convictions are ineligible to possess firearms. * **Credit Check:** Must not be in default or delinquent on federal student loans. * **Fingerprint Check:** Submitted to the FBI for criminal history records. * **Note:** Deliberate misstatements or omissions will result in disqualification.

  • *Post-Hiring Requirements:**
  • Successfully complete all required training.
  • Successfully complete a probationary period.
