Summary

Seeking experienced Law Enforcement Officers with prior training for a federal security role and rigorous hiring process.

We are seeking dedicated and highly qualified individuals for a Law Enforcement Officer position focused on maintaining safety and security. This role requires prior police training and experience, along with a strong commitment to public service and strict adherence to professional standards.

  • *Key Requirements:**
  • **U.S. Citizenship:** Must be a U.S. Citizen. Naturalized citizens require a verifiable background investigation.
  • **Education:** High School Diploma or GED required.
  • **Age:** Must be at least 21 years old at appointment. Generally, not older than 39 at appointment (or 40 if birthday in same month). Lateral transfers from federal civilian law enforcement may exceed 39 if they can achieve 20 years of combined federal law enforcement service by age 59 (SF-50 required if 39+).
  • **Driver's License:** Possess and maintain a valid REAL ID U.S. driver's license, not revoked or suspended in the last year, with a responsible driving record.
  • **Selective Service:** Male applicants must be registered for Selective Service.
  • *Experience & Training:**
  • **Current Law Enforcement:** Must be currently employed in law enforcement outside of USCP.
  • **Experience:** Minimum 9 months post-training law enforcement experience at application; minimum 52 weeks at appointment.
  • **Duty Status:** Must be in a full and unrestricted duty status at application and appointment.
  • **Required Training:** Must have completed one of the following, with a certificate attached to the application: FLETC UPTP; FLETA accredited military/equivalent police training; or CBP training (USBPI/CBPOPT).
  • *Hiring Process & Assessments:**

The rigorous hiring process includes:

  • **Examinations (Washington D.C. Visit):**
* **Psychological:** 4-6 hour online assessment and clinical interview (requires desktop/laptop, camera, mic). * **Medical:** Determines physical qualifications (fasting required). * **Polygraph:** Confirms information provided during selection.
  • **Comprehensive Background Investigation:** Thorough review of employment, residential, personal references, criminal history (10 years, no domestic violence misdemeanor), credit history (no federal student loan defaults), academic records, and tax checks.
* Fingerprint check submitted to the FBI. * **Important:** Deliberate misstatements or omissions will result in disqualification.
  • **Training & Probation:** Successful completion of all required training and a probationary period.
  • *Additional Information:**
  • Travel for hiring assessments and training is at the applicant's expense.
  • Must be eligible to possess a firearm and ammunition.
