Job Description

Summary

Seeking experienced Law Enforcement Officers with certified training and a clean record to uphold security after extensive screening.

Join our team as a Law Enforcement Officer. This demanding role requires individuals with prior law enforcement training and experience, who can successfully navigate a rigorous selection process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

CITIZENSHIP: Must be a United States Citizen. AGE: Applicants must be at least 21 years old at appointment and generally not older than 39 (or 40 if turning 40 in the month of appointment). Exceptions apply for lateral transfers from federal law enforcement positions, allowing applicants to be older if their combined service will achieve 20 years by age 59. Mandatory retirement provisions apply by age 57/59. EDUCATION: A High School Diploma or GED certificate is required. DRIVER'S LICENSE: Applicants must possess and maintain a valid REAL ID U.S. driver's license. The license must not have been revoked or under suspension for the past one year, and candidates must demonstrate a responsible driving record. TRAINING: Successful completion of FLETC UPTP, a FLETA-accredited military or other equivalent police training program, or CBP training programs (USBPI or CBPOPT) is mandatory. A certificate of completion must be included with your application.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE: Candidates must have 9 months of law enforcement experience post-training at the time of application and 52 weeks of experience at the time of appointment. CURRENT EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Applicants must be current law enforcement employed outside of USCP, maintaining a full and unrestricted duty status at both the time of application and appointment.

HIRING PROCESS AND ASSESSMENTS:

EXAMINATION PHASE: This phase includes psychological (requiring a desktop/laptop with camera/mic, online option available), medical (requiring fasting), and polygraph examinations. Candidates should expect a required visit to Washington, D.C. for these assessments. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: The final selection phase involves a full background investigation. This includes a thorough review and verification of employment history, employer, residential, and personal references, in-depth criminal and credit history, and academic records. ADDITIONAL CHECKS: A comprehensive criminal history check (covering the past 10 years), a credit check (ensuring no default or delinquency on Federal guaranteed student loans), an FBI fingerprint check, and Selective Service registration verification (for male applicants) are all required.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:

INTEGRITY: Deliberate misstatements, omissions, or intentionally withholding required information at any phase of the hiring process will result in disqualification. TRAVEL EXPENSES: Applicants are responsible for their own travel costs for hiring assessments and training. PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Successful completion of a probationary period is mandatory. DISQUALIFICATIONS: Conviction of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence is a disqualifying factor, as USCP Police Officers are required to possess a firearm and ammunition.
