## Legal Specialist (GS-11/12)

Join our team as a Legal Specialist, providing essential support to attorneys in managing administrative tort claims and various legal proceedings. This role requires meticulous legal research, claims analysis, and the preparation of critical legal documents.

### Responsibilities:

• Collect, organize, review, and summarize facts, laws, and special circumstances related to administrative tort claims.
• Analyze and recommend improvements to claims processing practices based on research into legal precedents and theories.
• Prepare responses for discovery requests, dispositive motions, settlements, and disciplinary/adverse action charges.
• Draft and finalize legal documents for attorney signature, incorporating legal analyses and relevant case law citations.

Candidates must meet one of the following by the closing date:

• *GS-11 Level:**
• **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, involving assisting with tort claim collection/summarization, analyzing claims processing for improvements, and preparing responses for discovery/motions.
• **Education:** A Ph.D., equivalent doctoral degree, LL.M., or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a relevant field.
• **Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
• *GS-12 Level:**
• **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, including independently collecting/summarizing tort claim facts/law, analyzing and recommending claims processing changes, preparing comprehensive legal responses, and drafting documents with legal analyses for attorney signature.
