U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a highly qualified Registered Nurse (GS-13) to contribute medical expertise to agency health programs.
- *Responsibilities:**
- Provide expert medical advice for a wide range of health initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth case reviews and interpret complex medical data.
- Research and analyze medical issues, trends, and new treatment technologies.
- *Requirements:**
- **Education:** Graduate, Bachelor's, Associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional registered nursing program (recognized by CCNE, COA-NAEP, ACME, or U.S. Dept. of Education).
- **Licensure:** Active, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license from a U.S. State, DC, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Territory, along with successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
- **Experience:** Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the GS-12 federal grade level, performing duties similar to those outlined above. All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be considered.
- *Additional Conditions:**
- **Required Documents:** Unofficial transcripts and a copy of your active RN license must be submitted with your application. Official transcripts will be requested upon selection.
- **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation by CBP, covering criminal history and drug use.
- **Residency:** Generally requires physical residency in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for those serving or supporting the U.S. government abroad.
- **Probationary Period:** New federal employees must complete a one-year probationary period.
