Summary

Join CBP as a GS-14 Finance Policy Specialist, developing and implementing critical financial policies and providing expert advice.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a skilled Finance Policy Specialist (GS-14) to develop, implement, and oversee financial policies and procedures.

  • *Key Responsibilities & Required Experience:**

To qualify for this GS-14 position, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, demonstrating duties such as:

  • Developing and maintaining standardized finance-related program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DHS and CBP laws and regulations.
  • Utilizing analytical tools and methodologies to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
  • Providing authoritative financial policy advice and guidance to management throughout CBP.
  • Organizing and coordinating thorough, systematic efforts for complex finance policy development and implementation.
  • Planning, organizing, and directing collaborative efforts across organizational lines, including monitoring progress, setting goals, and assigning responsibilities.
  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • **Time in Grade:** Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13 level (or equivalent) by 11/18/2025.
  • **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is required.
  • **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years (exceptions may apply for U.S. government service).
  • **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
  • **Political Appointee Disclosure:** Disclosure is required for current or former political appointees within the last 5 years.
