Mechanical Engineer (Project Mgr)

Seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and manage complex mechanical and HVAC systems within a government setting. This role requires technical expertise, project leadership, and a strong focus on system optimization and maintenance.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Provide expert engineering recommendations and consultation to resolve mechanical systems utility problems.
• Design, analyze, configure, test, and troubleshoot complex Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), mechanical system automation, and mechanical distribution systems.
• Lead and participate in engineering project support, development, evaluation, and life cycle management for complex initiatives.
• Develop and update comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all pertinent mechanical systems and components.
• Serve as a Project Manager and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on assigned projects and tasks.
• *Qualifications:**
• **Basic Requirements:**

* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or * An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by OPM standards.

• **Specialized Experience (must be clearly demonstrated in your resume):

* **For GS-12 Level:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11, which includes: * Providing engineering recommendations for mechanical utility problems. * Designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex HVAC, automation, and distribution systems. * Participating in complex engineering projects. * Analyzing mechanical systems and updating preventive maintenance programs. * Serving as a Project Manager and COR. * **For GS-13 Level:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12, demonstrating work of a *highly complex* nature, including: * Providing engineering consultation and analysis for mechanical utility problems. * Designing, analyzing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting *highly complex* HVAC, automation, and distribution systems. * Providing project engineering support for complex projects. * Developing and updating comprehensive preventive maintenance programs. * Serving as a Project Manager and COR.
