Summary
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage, troubleshoot, and support HVAC and mechanical systems for federal operations.
We are seeking qualified Mechanical Engineers to provide essential engineering support for federal operations, specializing in mechanical systems and HVAC. This role offers opportunities for growth with progressively complex responsibilities across GS-07, GS-09, and GS-11 levels.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- **Mechanical Systems & HVAC:** Assist with or lead troubleshooting, analysis, design, configuration, and testing of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), mechanical system automation, and mechanical distribution systems. Address and resolve mechanical system utility problems.
- **Maintenance & Projects:** Participate in and contribute to the development of preventative maintenance programs for all pertinent mechanical systems. Support engineering projects through development, evaluation, and life cycle phases. Serve as a Project Manager and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on assigned tasks.
- *Qualifications:**
- **Basic Requirement:** An Engineering degree or a combination of education and experience as defined by OPM standards (refer to opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/files/all-professional-engineering-positions-0800.pdf).
- **GS-07 Level:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-05) in mechanical utility problem assistance, HVAC/mechanical system troubleshooting, preventative maintenance participation, and project/COR support. or One full year of graduate-level education. or A Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). or A combination of qualifying experience and education.
- **GS-09 Level:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-07) in solving mechanical utility problems, recommending HVAC/mechanical system designs, assisting with engineering projects, checking systems for preventative maintenance, and supporting project management/COR duties. or A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education. or A combination of qualifying experience and education.
- **GS-11 Level:** One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-09) in making engineering recommendations for mechanical utility problems, assisting in designing/analyzing HVAC/mechanical systems, participating in engineering projects, studying systems for preventative maintenance development, and assisting with project management/COR duties. or A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education. or A combination of qualifying experience and education.
