Job Description

Summary

Experienced Federal Engineer sought to apply advanced mechanical and building system expertise for commissioning, repairs, and innovative solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Federal Engineer at the GS-14 level. This role involves applying advanced engineering and/or architectural theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to critical building systems.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Lead Building System Commissioning initiatives.
  • Oversee Mechanical Systems Engineering, including repairs, maintenance, and operations.
  • Provide expert support for large-scale and complex mechanical systems.
  • Develop and implement new and innovative engineering methods.
  • *Minimum Qualification Requirements (GS-14 Level):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level (federal or private sector). This experience must demonstrate the ability to apply engineering/architectural principles to:
* Building System Commissioning. * Mechanical Systems Engineering, repairs, maintenance, and operation. * Supporting large-scale and complex mechanical systems. * Developing and implementing new and innovative engineering methods.

  • **Basic Engineering Requirement (One of the following must also be met):**
* **1. Education:** * Successful completion of a professional engineering degree (Bachelor's or higher) from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program; or * A bachelor's degree (or higher) including differential and integral calculus and advanced courses in five of seven specific engineering science/physics areas (e.g., statics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical fields, materials science); or * A bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, computer science, architecture) combined with at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional supervision and guidance. * **2. Licensure/Certification:** Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or territory. * **3. Examination:** Evidence of successfully passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional engineering registration. * **4. Coursework:** Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, fully acceptable towards meeting the requirements of an engineering program described above.
