Materials Engineer

We are seeking a highly qualified Materials Engineer at the GS-12 level, with a starting salary of $101,401.00. This role involves providing expert technical guidance, conducting experiments to improve material properties, and contributing to the full lifecycle of engineering projects.

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing materials engineering projects, including defining scope, goals, and deliverables.
• *Qualifications:**
• *Basic Requirements:**

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• **Education:** A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a program accredited by ABET, or a Bachelor's degree including differential and integral calculus and advanced courses in at least five of seven specified engineering science/physics areas (e.g., statics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials properties).
• **Combination of Education and Experience:** College-level education, training, or technical experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge of physical/mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and practical understanding of engineering sciences. This must be demonstrated by one of the following:

* Professional registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE). * Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or another professional registration written test. * Completion of at least 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including courses specified in the education requirement above. * A Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, computer science) *plus* at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.

• *Minimum Qualifications (GS-12):**
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, performing duties such as providing technical guidance in engineering designs, conducting material property experiments, and assisting with materials engineering project planning and execution.
