Job Description

Summary

Manage federal facilities, including operations, procurement, and space planning, supporting agency efficiency at the GS-11/12 level.

Join a federal law enforcement agency (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) in a vital facilities management role. This position involves overseeing facility operations, procurement, and space planning, offered at the GS-11 or GS-12 level based on qualifications.

  • *Key Responsibilities (Vary by Grade Level):**
  • **GS-11 Level:**
* Provide daily support for facilities issues including repairs, leasing, telecom, security systems, warranties, purchasing, service contracts, furniture, and electrical. * Manage procurement activities for facility purchases across national and field offices. * Coordinate with executive management on short-term, long-term, and future space and facility requirements. * Assess projected personnel growth and related funding needs for facilities.

  • **GS-12 Level (includes GS-11 duties, with added responsibilities):**
* Coordinate with the Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM) to secure funding for facility needs. * Act as a liaison for OFAM regarding leasing issues, space issues, or construction projects. * Provide assistance to improve the efficiency of programs and processes through facilities support.

  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • **GS-11 Level:**
* One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level (e.g., facilities management, procurement, space planning). * *or* A Ph.D., equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in any field. * *or* A combination of qualifying experience and graduate education.

  • **GS-12 Level:**
* One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level (e.g., coordinating funding, managing leasing/construction as a liaison, improving facility processes). * *Note:* There is no education substitution for the GS-12 level.

  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • **Background Investigation:** Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation.
  • **Residency:** Required to have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years (exceptions may apply).
  • **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
