Job Description

Summary

Strategically lead program evaluations, manage systems, and advise senior leaders for operational improvements at CBP.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a highly skilled GS-13 Program Analyst to enhance operational effectiveness through strategic evaluation and management.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Lead complex qualitative and quantitative program evaluations, developing performance measures, statistical analyses, and actionable recommendations for executive management.
  • Design, implement, and oversee planning, control, and management information systems to support long-range plans, budget formulation, and resource allocation.
  • Analyze the impact of new legislation, executive orders, and directives, advising senior leaders on recommendations.
  • Plan and direct cross-functional team studies, coordinating with headquarters and field offices to resolve complex management issues and drive significant organizational change.
  • Prepare and deliver high-level briefings and reports, serving as a focal point for program issues and supporting executive data calls from various government bodies.
  • *Requirements:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, performing duties similar to those listed above.
  • **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply.
  • **Background Investigation:** Successful completion of a thorough background investigation is required for this federal law enforcement agency position.
  • **Probationary Period:** New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
  • **Federal Employees:** Current federal employees must meet Time in Grade requirements (52 weeks at the GS-12 level or equivalent).
  • **Political Appointees:** Disclosure of current or former political appointee status in the Executive Branch is required.
