Summary
Support U.S. Customs and Border Protection by analyzing programs, developing policies, and managing information systems at the GS-11 level.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a motivated professional to provide analytical and program support at the GS-11 grade level. This role involves contributing to management policies, information systems, and operational studies.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead or participate in special studies and task forces, supporting field office and port operations.
- Develop, coordinate, and present management briefings and communications.
- Provide expert advice to leadership on policy development, evaluation, and implementation.
- Assist in creating and monitoring management information systems for strategic planning.
- Prepare detailed reports, impact statements, and recommendations for senior review.
- *Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. This includes planning studies, coordinating management communications, advising on policies, implementing management information systems, and drafting reports. *Qualifying volunteer experience is accepted.*
- **Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (e.g., 54 semester hours) in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- **Combined Qualification:** An appropriate combination of graduate education and specialized experience may also qualify.
- *Additional Requirements:**
- **Background Investigation:** Must successfully pass a thorough background investigation, including inquiries into felony convictions, current charges, and illegal drug use.
- **Residency:** Must have physically resided in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for government work or study abroad.
- **Federal Employees:** Current federal employees must meet Time in Grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade) by 09/12/2025. New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
