Summary
Lead administrative program coordination, strategic planning, and advise executive leadership on policy and resource management.
This role involves managing administrative programs, coordinating strategic planning, and providing expert advice to executive leadership on policy and resource allocation within a federal agency. You will contribute to critical decision-making processes through detailed analysis and effective communication.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and coordinate strategic planning initiatives, including preparing briefings, presentations, and conferences for executive management.
- Ensure the availability of accurate, concise, and timely information for management and policy officials.
- Design and administer plans and controls for data submission, forming the basis for budget and program resource requests.
- Coordinate, analyze, and issue administrative program policies in collaboration with managers and senior officials.
- Advise employees, supervisors, and managers on administrative program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems related to administrative management systems and processes.
- Prepare essential briefing materials and attend formal and informal meetings.
- Provide guidance and direction on administrative matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- *Qualifications:**
- **GS-12 Level**: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade, performing duties such as developing planning management, ensuring timely information for leadership, designing data submission plans, or assisting with policy coordination.
- **GS-13 Level**: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade, including advising on administrative policies, analyzing management system problems, preparing briefing materials, or providing organizational guidance.
- *Note:* Both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, is considered.
- *Essential Requirements:**
- **Resume**: Your resume must explicitly detail how you meet the specialized experience requirements.
- **Time-in-Grade (Federal Employees Only)**: Must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in federal service.
- **Background Investigation**: Successful completion of a thorough background investigation by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is required. This includes inquiries into felony criminal convictions and illegal drug use.
- **U.S. Residency**: Must have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years. Exceptions may apply for U.S. government employees (civilian/military), their dependents, U.S.-sponsored study abroad participants, or U.S. government contractors.
- **Probationary Period**: New federal employees will serve a one-year probationary period.
- **Political Appointee Disclosure**: Current or former political appointees in the Executive Branch must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
