Summary
Manage public and media communications, provide accurate agency information, and analyze trends for improved service.
This role involves providing critical information to the public and media, focusing on U.S. Customs and Border Protection programs and regulations. You will analyze communication needs and contribute to improved service delivery.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Serve as a primary contact for public and media inquiries regarding agency programs.
- Provide accurate information on customs and immigration regulations, collaborating with program specialists.
- Evaluate and approve public communications, ensuring clarity and appropriateness.
- Analyze information patterns and trends to enhance customer service and quality of responses.
- Independently prepare and disseminate informational materials.
- *Qualifications & Requirements:**
- **Experience:** Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. This experience must be clearly detailed in your resume.
- **Federal Employees:** Must meet Time in Grade requirements (e.g., 52 weeks at GS-12) by September 19, 2025.
- **Background Check:** Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
- **Residency:** Physical residency in the U.S. or its protectorates for at least three of the last five years is generally required. Exceptions may apply for U.S. government employees/dependents, study abroad participants, or government contractors/volunteers.
- **Probationary Period:** A one-year probationary period applies to all new federal employees.
- **Political Appointees:** Specific disclosure requirements apply for current or former political appointees.
