Summary

Seeking IT Specialists to manage and secure network infrastructure, applying cybersecurity best practices and resolving technical issues.

Join our team as an IT Specialist, focusing on cybersecurity and network operations. We are seeking dedicated professionals to ensure the security, efficiency, and reliability of our information technology infrastructure.

  • *Core Competencies (Required for all applicants):**
  • **Attention to Detail:** Ensure IT programs comply with cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • **Customer Service:** Interpret IT security guidelines to meet user needs.
  • **Oral Communication:** Effectively communicate organizational security policies to stakeholders.
  • **Problem Solving:** Develop effective solutions for cybersecurity and IT challenges.
  • *Minimum Qualification Requirements:**
  • *For GS-11 Level:**
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, performing duties such as:
* Providing technical direction for local area networks (LAN). * Researching and testing new end-user computing devices and software. * Applying security practices (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection) to network systems. * Operating and maintaining servers and LANs, with an understanding of MAN/WAN.
  • or A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a relevant field.
  • or A combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
  • *For GS-12 Level:**
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, performing duties such as:
* Integrating security protocols and risk management throughout the IT system lifecycle. * Collecting and interpreting network traffic patterns to ensure network availability and quality of service. * Performing diagnostic routines on networked equipment using advanced tools. * Providing server administration and management for local area networks.

  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • Current federal employees must meet Time-in-Grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
  • Qualifying experience includes both paid and unpaid (volunteer) work.
