Seeking IT Cybersecurity Specialists to secure networks, resolve issues, and ensure policy adherence across system lifecycles.

## IT Cybersecurity Specialist (GS-11/12)

  • *Salary:** GS-11: $84,601.00+ | GS-12: $101,401.00+
Join our team as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist to ensure the security and efficiency of our information technology infrastructure. We are seeking professionals with strong IT security competencies who can contribute to both operational support and strategic security initiatives. This role is available at the GS-11 or GS-12 level, depending on your qualifications.

### Key Responsibilities (All Levels):

  • Ensure IT programs and systems comply with cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Interpret and apply IT security guidelines to effectively meet customer needs.
  • Clearly communicate organizational security policies and procedures to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement solutions for cybersecurity issues to achieve both short and long-term organizational goals.
### Minimum Qualifications:

  • *For GS-11:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, performing duties such as:
* Providing technical direction for Local Area Networks (LANs). * Researching and testing new end-user computing devices and software. * Applying security practices (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection) to maintain network security. * Operating and maintaining servers and LANs, with an understanding of Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs).
  • **or Education:** A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) or one full year of graduate-level education.
  • **or Combination:** An equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience.
  • *For GS-12:**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, performing duties such as:
* Integrating security protocols and risk management throughout the IT system lifecycle (planning, design, development, testing, and integration). * Collecting and interpreting network traffic patterns to ensure network availability and quality of service. * Performing diagnostic routines on networked equipment using advanced tools to troubleshoot network failures. * Providing server administration and developing management guidelines for Local Area Network servers.

### Additional Requirements:

  • **Federal Applicants:** Current or former Federal employees must meet Time-in-Grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade) and provide SF-50(s) as proof of status and eligibility.
  • Qualifying experience includes both paid and unpaid work, such as volunteer service.
