Job Description

Summary

Manage government property and inventory, ensuring accountability, tracking, and efficient operations.

We are seeking a Property & Inventory Management Specialist to oversee the lifecycle of government assets. This role is available at both the GS-09 and GS-11 levels, offering distinct responsibilities and requirements.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • *For GS-09 Level:**
  • Coordinate the procurement, delivery, payment, and distribution of inventories and property.
  • Track records and manage data within various asset management systems.
  • Coordinate and resolve issues or discrepancies reported regarding property.
  • *For GS-11 Level:**
  • Maintain comprehensive accountability and control over diverse equipment, property, materials, and supplies.
  • Review reconciled invoices and monthly statements for accuracy.
  • Compile data for statistical inventory reports.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • *For GS-09 Level (starting salary $69,923):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, performing duties such as coordinating procurement, tracking assets, and resolving inventory issues. or
  • **Education:** A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education. or
  • **Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
  • *For GS-11 Level (starting salary $84,601):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, performing duties such as maintaining property accountability, reviewing invoices, and compiling inventory reports. or
  • **Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education. or
  • **Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
  • *Important Application Information:**
  • **Time-in-Grade:** Current or former federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade) by the closing date of this announcement.
  • **Federal Employee Documentation:** Provide SF-50(s) showing proof of federal employment status and time-in-grade eligibility (position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service).
  • **Experience Credit:** All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be fully credited.
  • **Political Appointees:** Current or former political appointees (within the last 5 years) must disclose this information to Human Resources.
