Summary
Serve as a Federal Benefits Specialist, advising employees on complex benefit programs and managing HR solutions across multiple GS levels.
This role offers an opportunity to join our team as a Federal Benefits Specialist, with openings at the GS-09, GS-11, and GS-12 levels, depending on experience and qualifications. We are seeking dedicated professionals to guide our diverse workforce through complex federal benefits programs.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide expert advice and guidance on federal benefits programs, including CSRS, FERS, TSP, FEHB, and FEGLI.
- Manage benefits processes, transactions, and open season events.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide information on work-life programs (e.g., EAP, Telework).
- (GS-11/12) Develop and deliver benefits-related briefings and training.
- (GS-11/12) Implement new benefits procedures and analyze the impact of regulations.
- (GS-12) Develop and implement benefits policies and provide strategic advisory services to management.
- (GS-12) Proactively resolve complex and sensitive benefits issues, offering impact analysis and HR solutions.
- *Qualification Requirements (Specialized Experience & Time-in-Grade):**
- *GS-09 Level:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level (federal or private sector) advising on federal benefits, explaining eligibility, assisting with open season, processing transactions, and responding to routine inquiries.
- **Time-in-Grade:** Served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal service.
- *GS-11 Level:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level (federal or private sector) providing comprehensive advice on complex federal benefits, independently managing open season aspects, implementing new procedures, and developing/delivering briefings.
- **Time-in-Grade:** Served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal service.
- *GS-12 Level:**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level (federal or private sector) providing strategic advisory services to management on complex federal benefits, developing/implementing policies, analyzing new regulations, and proactively resolving complex/sensitive benefits issues.
- **Time-in-Grade:** Served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal service.
- *General Requirements:**
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service.
- All qualifications, including Time-in-Grade, must be met and clearly documented in your resume by the closing date of the announcement.
