Job Description

Summary

Seeking an HR/Payroll & Compensation Specialist (GS-11/12) to manage payroll, interpret policies, and advise on complex compensation issues.

Join our team as an HR/Payroll & Compensation Specialist, contributing to essential human resources functions and ensuring accurate pay administration. We are seeking qualified professionals at both the GS-11 and GS-12 levels.

  • *Responsibilities (may vary by grade level):**
  • Process payroll and personnel actions using automated HR systems.
  • Assist with or provide training on HR and payroll systems and policies.
  • Research, interpret, and provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.
  • (GS-12) Advise on a wide range of pay and compensation administration practices, laws, and regulations.
  • (GS-12) Conduct research to resolve complex personnel/pay related problems (e.g., benefits, retirement, compensation).
  • (GS-12) Process various compensation actions, including pay requests and time and attendance.
  • (GS-12) Conduct pay audits to identify and correct errors in employee compensation records.
  • *Requirements:**
  • *For GS-11 Level ($84,601.00 starting salary):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, performing duties such as payroll/personnel action processing, HR/payroll system training assistance, or payroll policy research.
* **or**
  • **Education:** A Ph.D., LL.M., or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a relevant field.
* **or**
  • **Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
  • *For GS-12 Level ($101,401 starting salary):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, performing duties such as advising on pay/compensation practices, resolving complex personnel/pay issues, processing compensation actions, or conducting pay audits.
  • *Additional Requirements:**
  • Current or former Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements and provide SF-50(s) as proof of status.
  • Relevant paid and unpaid (volunteer) experience will be credited towards qualifications.
